TAA Opens a Membership Path Rooted in Participation and Accountability

Published on 2026-06-02 08:15:00

TAA's constitution outlines a membership model built around participation, discipline, and equal access. Membership is open to Kenyan citizens aged 18 and above who are not members of another registered political party and who are ready to uphold the party's principles, objects, policies, programmes, and code of conduct.

The constitution sets the current fee structure at Kshs 150 for ordinary membership and Kshs 10,000 for life membership, while allowing reduced, subsidized, or waived fees for special interest groups including women, youth, persons with disabilities, ethnic minorities, and marginalized communities.

Members are given real rights within the party, including the right to participate in party activities, contribute to policy discussion, receive party documents, submit proposals through party structures, and vote or seek nomination where eligible. In return, members are expected to uphold party discipline, defend the party's programmes, remain active in civic participation, and support the movement in good faith.
